The Best Jobs for 2026: Indeed Reveals Top Careers with Strong Growth

The popular job search website Indeed has just released its list of the best jobs in the United States for 2026.

How Did They Pick These Jobs?

Indeed looked at several important factors to create this list:

  • How many job openings are available
  • How much wages have grown over time
  • What the typical salary is for each job

The company didn't just focus on jobs that are doing well right now. They also looked at trends from the past three years to find careers that offer long-term job security.

What the Results Show

The research found some good news for job seekers. While job opportunities are becoming more focused in fewer industries, many of these careers don't require years of expensive education to get started.

Another positive finding: many of these top jobs need skills that computers and robots can't easily replace. They also require working closely with people, which makes them more secure in an age of increasing automation.

Top Jobs on the List

Here are Indeed's top 25 jobs, along with their average yearly pay:

  1. Cardiac medical tech: $133,907

Healthcare and Tech Lead the Way

Most of the jobs on Indeed's list fall into two main categories: healthcare and technology.

This matches what the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has found. Their research on the fastest-growing jobs shows that:

  • 12 out of their top 20 fastest-growing careers are in healthcare
  • 5 jobs require special training in technology

Looking ahead, a 2025 government report predicts that jobs in computer systems and related tech services will grow faster than any other field through 2033.

Note: The salary figures listed are national averages and may vary depending on where you live.
